Norwegian cruise and ferry organisation, Hurtigruten have announced they are to acquire a new ship for the fleet. The 2009 built 7,000 ton, 320 passenger ship, Atlantida will join Hurtigruten as Norwegian Explorer.
Atlantida was originally designed as a car and passenger ferry and would operate between Portugal and the Azores.
Norwegian Explorer will operate along the Norwegian coastline for the 2016/17 season and will then deploy to the Arctic in 2017.
