It was a rather busy day in Southampton today as 5 cruise ships vyed for position at the city's 4 cruise terminals. Adonia, Caribbean Princess, Celebrity Eclipse and Royal Princess were all departing Southampton on their respective cruises however Azura would not be as she will be departing tomorrow after she arrived back in after technical problems on her previous cruise.
Today, 8th May, saw the arrival of two unusual visitors to Southampton.
Costa Luminosa and MSC Orchestra both arrived early this morning into the port and we were down there early to capture them arriving. Celebrity Cruises Celebrity Eclipse and P&O Cruises Aurora departed Southampton on Thursday 7th May 2015 in fairly nice weather conditions.
Celebrity Eclipse began moving off her berth at 101 at around 16.40 and proceeded to move along Southampton Water, passing us at Town Quay before disappearing into the distance. Aurora left her berth around 10 minutes later and made for quite a sight with her Union flag on her bow and her new funnel colour. An elegant ship indeed and was nice to see both ships back in Southampton again. Satruday 25th April 2015, was not the nicest days to take the ferry to the Isle of Wight and back. However, we did have a few cruise ships sailing out so we didn't want to miss them. Adonia, Ventura and Britannia were all sailing out and so we thought we'd get good vantage views of them around Calshot.
